The nearest town is Girone, 900 meters from the Farmhouse, easily reachable on foot through a path among our vineyards. It is a hamlet of the municipality of Fiesole, just outside Florence on the Arno river. Girone means ‘big bend’ and the town is called by that name precisely because it is situated on a bend of the Arno river.
There are different shops and activities in Girone: a cafe and cinema, a greengrocer and dairy, a delicatessen, a flower shop. 

On Friday morning the local market offers fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh seafood, excellent local cheese, charcuterie and porchetta.
The bus stop of line number 14 is in the town square, where there is a public free parking, a newspaper shop and the Church. Just 300 meters away, the Anchetta Sport Center is equipped with a soccer field and tennis courts.
For any medical and beauty needs, a pharmacy specialised in homeopathic products, a beautician and a hair salon are in the town square or close-by.

A cycle-pedestrian lane runs from the village along the Arno river for 5,5 kms, connecting Girone to Ponte San Niccolò, at the doors of Florence historical centre.
